Miami, Florida – May 9, 2019 – As part of its Series A financing efforts, DermaSensor Inc. has been receiving recognition as a leading startup within Florida’ technology investor ecosystem. DermaSensor and its CEO, Cody Simmons, have been selected to present at some of Florida’s most prominent and well-respected venture events and competitions.

On April 30, 2019, the DermaSensor team exhibited at eMerge Americas, a major tech event attended that connects the Americas (North America, South America, Central America, Latin America, and The Carribean). eMerge was held at the Miami Convention Center and had over 15,000 attendees, over 500 companies comprised of entrepreneurs, investors, and leading business executives from over 40 different countries. DermaSensor was selected to host a table at eMerge as part of the Startup.Miami and Knight Foundation ecosystem.

Simmons pitched for Revolution’s Rise of the Rest Seed Fund (ROTR) in Miami on May 2nd. DermSensor was selected among 7 other finalists (out of 142 applications) to pitch the early stage venture fund backed by Jeff Bezos, Eric Schmidt, Henry Kravis, Howard Shultz, Meg Whitman, Jim Breye, John Doerr and others. Revolution, a venture capital firm, is run by Steve Case, AOL’s billionaire cofounder, who strongly believes the future of startups lie outside of the Silicon Valley, New York City, and Boston, what he calls the “Rise of the Rest”. For the last 14 years, Case has led more than $1 billion in startup investments through Revolution. Case began the Rise of the Rest tour in 2014 in Detroit. The tour this year is hitting Florida in Orlando, Space Coast, Tampa Bay, Miami, and San Juan in Puerto Rico.

On May 9, 2019, DermaSensor was selected among 19 other companies in an application pool of 150 to pitch for a $50,000 grand prize award with the Florida Venture Forum. For the last 35 years, Florida Venture Forum has strived to engage the investment community, including private equity, venture capital and angel investors with local Florida-based entrepreneurs.
